What rates and terms am I eligible for?
Since Debt Consolidation & Cash Advance offers prequalified rates, the easiest way to find out what terms you may qualify for is by filling out our quick prequalification form. You'll immediately see if you prequalify with any of our partner lenders. There’s no commitment or risk involved, and you can compare prequalified rates securely in one convenient place.
Will multiple credit inquiries affect my score?
During the prequalification process, we conduct a soft credit inquiry, which does not impact your credit score.
If you decide to move forward with a specific lender on your Dashboard, you authorize that lender to perform a hard credit inquiry to evaluate your creditworthiness. Typically, a hard inquiry may reduce your credit score by up to 5 points.
FICO, the primary credit score provider, considers multiple inquiries for the same type of financial product within a typical shopping window (usually 30 days or less) as a single inquiry. This process, known as "rate shopping," means if you apply for loans with several lenders within 30 days, the credit bureaus will generally count it as one inquiry.
FICO provides more information on this in their guide, "How do FICO scores consider student loan shopping," under Credit Basics – Credit Checks & Inquiries.
